[vterm] Text typed in insert-state is not displayed

What happened?

When I open vterm, which is in insert-state by default, the text I type is not displayed unless I press Backspace or RET.

What did you expect to happen?

Any text I type in insert-state should be displayed immediately.

Steps to reproduce

  1. M-x +vterm/here
  2. Type text.
  3. The text typed in 2. doesn’t get displayed unless I press RET or backspace.

I can reproduce this in vanilla Emacs with only evil, vterm and evil-collection installed, both in graphical and console mode.
