Ledger mode freezes doom emacs buffer

What happened?

{{{Enabling ledger within init.el and opening a buffer in ledger mode causes emacs to freeze. The only way to close emacs is through killing emacs from the terminal. I attempted to open a file in ledger mode in vanilla emacs through the doom emacs sandbox and emacs did not freeze. }}}

What did you expect to happen?

Steps to reproduce

1. Uncomment ledger in init.el
2. Open a file in ledger-mode either by opening a file of the fom *.ledger or by enabling ledger mode on an existing file

System information

Using hyprland on arch, however, the problem also exists on qtile using X11.
