Doom emacs failing to open any file because of doom-transient-hook0 error

What happened?

On a fresh install, I open emacs, attempt to open any file. Fails to open with the following error

stop Error (doom-first-file-hook): Error running hook “global-git-commit-mode” because: (wrong-type-argument stringp (defun . doom-transient-hook0))

What did you expect to happen?

For the file to open without error

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open doom emacs on fresh install
  2. Attempt to open any file

System information

NOTE I am running on an AIX IBM machine
